Bridget + Ted | Detroit Wedding at Belle Isle Boathouse | Belle Isle Fountain
August 18, 2018
It's not until this past year that I started visiting Belle Isle. I know! What was I thinking? It has a beautiful beach with a great view of Detroit, lots of spots for picnicking (and stepping on goose poop) and so many willow trees. It also holds the Belle Isle Boathouse, which is a GEM of a wedding venue and perfect for Bridget and Ted. The amazing wedding planner extraordinaire, Ryan Abney Event Design, told me that they only just recently opened it up for events. If you're looking for a historic wedding venue in South East Michigan, go book this place! Every room is stunning, full of light and uniquely charming. Bridget Sullivan is an amazing dress designer in Detroit, and I couldn't WAIT to see the two dresses that she designed for her big day! BEAUTIFUL. She floated and twirled throughout the whole day with the grace, joy and carefree heart of a Disney princess! It was such a joy to be with Bridget and Ted on this touching day. They and their families are some of the kindest and most loving people I’ve met. To Bridget and Ted! May your lives always be full of joy and wonder.
Every single detail of the day was gorgeous and so well thought out!
How beautiful are these white and blush roses?
Bridget is a dress designer in Detroit and she made BOTH of her dresses. Go look at her stuff! It is magical. To say that I was excited to see them in person was an understatement. This morning was all about Bridget and her dresses and I couldn't have been happier.
Bridget hand painted the flowers you see dancing across her dress. She’s a beautiful writer; you can find her blog posts about the process here.
