Francesca + Joey | Smokey Mountain Wedding | Sevierville, Tennessee
If you know Fran and Joey, you’ve probably been looking forward to this day as much as we all have. A little about these beautiful hearts: Fran fills every space she enters with wisdom, welcome, and laughter. And she loves the smell of sun on warm pine trees. Joey is kind, patient and brings life everywhere he goes. But the thing that stands out to me most about these two is how consistently, genuinely and deeply they love people. Everyone around them. Their friends, their families, and you, dear stranger, if you were ever to meet them. They can’t help but to love.
They held their destination wedding in the smokey mountain clad land of Tennessee. The morning felt hushed and holy as we all moved towards the beginning of this beautiful couples' new life together. After Fran was ready, she had a first look with her dad and with her bridesmaids. And then it was time.
Joey came to the altar crying, knowing the gift that they were both about to receive in each other. I'll let the photos tell the rest of that story. They washed each other's feet as a symbol of what Christ has done for them, for the world, and what they hope to do for each other for years to come.
After the ceremony, we photographed their beautiful families, now one, and set off to take wedding party photos. It's a rare and precious thing witness a group of friends so close and connected to each other.
Next, we set off to find some mountain views, but since the sun was so hot and high in the sky, we ended up saving more bride and groom photos for the coolness of dusk and instead drove around and ate snacks in the AC. The reception was full of good food, laughter, and stories about how much this couple has impacted the lives of everyone around them. "They're my rock," was the collective theme on everyone’s hearts. Fran's dad had us all in tears with his speech and the tears kept flowing as Joey's best man sang their first dance song. To say their wedding day was beautiful is an understatement. It was heaven on earth, today and forever.
Fran and Joey, thank you for letting me be a part of your day. It was an honor to capture your deep love for each other and for the world around you. “May your days be good and long upon this earth.”
