Elin + Tim | Shinola Hotel + Backyard Wedding | Grosse Pointe Park, MI
We could not have asked for a more perfect day for Elin and Tim’s wedding. Elin got ready at the Shinola Hotel in downtown Detroit and as I walked into the lobby I was struck by the beauty of this building. If you’re in town, I highly recommend to stop by and take a peak around. Then I walked into Elin’s room and was struck by her beautiful spirit. And can we talk about her details? That magical leafy lace and stunning tulle paired with her purple hair and rainbow bouquet made her the perfect fairy bride for their garden party wedding. Next, I went to Tim’s parent’s home which also felt magical, with every wall and surface in the home covered in special moments and keepsakes. After seeing that Tim had two ties, Elin said, “Who would have guessed that Tim would be the one with a wardrobe change!”
The backyard ceremony was beautiful. They said their vows under a floral arch made by the gods and everyone cried. After the ceremony, Tim was especially excited to get a croquet game going. His dad, Tony started strong, but in the end, Tim crushed all opposition and remained the champion of croquet and the champion of Elin’s heart. Awwwww, lol. We took a photo with peony plucked from Tim’s grandmother’s peony bush, so special. They had an all vegetarian dinner which was SUBLIME, and ate it off of their grandparents’ and family’s china. They had cake and cookies made by their families for dessert. I loved how relaxed and special everything about their day was.
These sweeties are two of the most unique people I’ve ever met. Their sparkling minds and warm hearts shine through in everything they touch and in the way they love the people around them. Elin and Tim, it was an honor to witness the beginning of your married life together. I wish you even more joy each day than you have already known together. Congratulations!
