Ann Arbor's Best Photoshoot Locations: 7 Must-Visit Spots
Ann Arbor's Best Photoshoot Locations: 7 Must-Visit Spots
1. THE LAW QUAD
Pictured here, the Law Quad never disappoints, no matter the season. With big Harry Potter vibes, lots of historical backdrops and ivy-covered nooks and crannies, how could you go wrong?
2. DOWNTOWN ANN ARBOR
I love Ann Arbor’s downtown for photoshoots because of how lively it is and how it highlights Ann Arbor’s art-loving community with murals, graffiti and beautiful architecture.
3. NICKELS ARCADE
This unique spot is a great place to go no matter the weather. Because of its glass roof, whether rain or shine or snow, it offers a beautiful shelter with amazing lighting.
4.University of Michigan MUSEUM OF ART
The columns in front of the museum are a great place to take more formal and dressed up photos. Whether in between the columns or sitting on the stairs, it’s a glowing neutral background that highlights you. It doubles as another great covered area to go if weather is not on your side.
5. MATTHAEI BOTANICAL GARDENS
I love this place for its beautiful variety! The conservatory offers beautifully lit shelter with plenty of plants and greenery during colder months, and has trails, trees, a pond and plenty of blooms for all seasons.
6. NICHOLS ARBORETUM
The Arb is a great place to go for all seasons. You’ve got peonies in Spring, lots of colorful leaves in Fall, pine trees in Winter, and a stunning field for golden hour all year round.
7. ANYWHERE SPECIAL TO YOU
Did you have your first date at RoosRoast (my favorite coffee shop in town 🤓), have many dates inside the museum, have a go-to park for taking walks together, had regular air-hockey matches at a local arcade? Anywhere special to you adds a personal and meaningful touch to your photos that tell your story for years to come. Jay and Raysha (below) had their first date at a Dairy Queen in Ann Arbor, isn’t that sweet?
