Gillian + Jacob | Ann Arbor Wedding | Island Park + Downtown
What a beautiful, intimate wedding. Gillian and Jacob decided to keep their wedding for their immediate family and I loved it. They were able to really connect with the people they loved. And they all fit around one table at the reception! My second photographer, Colleen, and I kept remarking on how spoiled we felt all day. With Gillian and Jacob’s family filling us with water and sweets and bananas and a beautiful dinner at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse in Ann Arbor, Mi. Hands down best wedding meal we’ve ever had. And one of the best days, too! Their ceremony was at the magical Island Park in Ann Arbor, at the Greek Pavillion. Gah-geous, just gah-geous. They even got some hoots and hollers from tubers floating down the creek! But I’m getting ahead of myself. Let's start with these good boys…
I wanted to scoop them up and take them with me all day! Gillian’s friend, Cathryn, is the OG of wedding mornings. She did Gillian’s makeup (BEAUTIFUL) and as it turns out, is a professional bow-tier. Seriously ladies, if you need a make up artist, Cathryn’s your gal.
Boy, do I love making moms cry. Especially insanely cute moms like Amy who adore their daughters. I had Amy tell Gillian what she was proud of her for. Not a dry eye on this face. These two love each other something fierce, what a beautiful gift!
Don’t even get me started on first looks with the father of the bride. This one was no exception. I love them always.
Just a bride sitting on a swing at the house she grew up in, now all grown up, swinging into her bright future with her bright husband. I’M NOT CRYING YOU’RE CRYING.
And here’s that bright husband. What a joy they both are!
Collin officiated their wedding. It was his first time and he did amazing.
Look how happy Jacob is, thinking about his bright future with his bright bride!!
Jacob. Yah killing me with those eyes for Gilly.
They’re married!! And then I couldn’t stop taking pictures of their beautiful doll faces. See exhibits A through Z.
And onto the reception! This was the only table and I LOVED it. These two were all about family.
They even planned their wedding day to be the same as Gillian’s Oma and Opa. Her mom gave this sign as a momento:
Such a sweet first dance.
After scoping out the streets outside of Ruth’s Chris, we found this glorious angel light for their beautiful doll faces and made some magic.
I can’t say enough about these two. Gillian and Jacob, thank you for welcoming us into your beautiful treasure of day!
